Arthur Turner was born in Byfleet, Surrey, England on 26 August 1890. He was the son of Walter Turner and Elizabeth Ellen Turner. Arthur left England to live in Canada and settled in the city of Galt (now known as Cambridge), Ontario. He signed up to the Canadian Military on 25 March 1916 with the 111th Battalion (service #730672). He eventually made it to the battle of Vimy Ridge where he lost his life on 11 April 1917. His brother Percy Turner also lost his life in Belguim during WWI.
