‘Pioneer Albert Tilbury, Brigade Signals, has received a medal “for his gallant conduct from July 28th to August 5th, 1916, near Pozieres, in laying cables through trenches under continual shell fire.” Pioneer Tilbury, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Tilbury, of New Road, Chilworth, is 20 years of age, and previous to his enlistment, just over two years ago, worked at the Chilworth Gun Powder Factory.’
