This project explores how Surrey and its people responded to the Great War. The shape of Surrey has changed considerably throughout its history, find out more here. Use the links in the menu to left to explore Surrey’s Great War heritage, either through the modern borough and district links or by using the A-Z listing. Surrey people were involved in all aspects of the war at Home and Abroad, including the Western Front, Eastern Front and Gallipoli. Many Surrey people are recorded on memorials outside the county.
