Surrey History Centre collects and rescues archives and printed materials relating to Surrey's past and present, so that they can tell the story of the County and its people to future generations. We can help you discover your family history learn about famous Surrey people, buildings, businesses and organisations trace the history of your house, street, town or community or research a school or university project. We are based in Woking, where you can consult original documents which date from the 12th century to the present day and refer to our collections of printed books, local newspapers, directories, maps, ephemera and illustrations. Throughout the year, we host lots of events and exhibitions details of which can be found on our website - www.surreycc.gov.uk/heritageevents

    We are interested in coming to the somme film day on 02/07 2016 can we please be advise when tickets are available and the cost of these please.

      Thank you for your interest in our screening of the Battle of the Somme film. The event will be free and registration for tickets will be available on the website soon – keep your eyes peeled!

  2. We are holding an event on the weekend of Nov 17th & 18th .n Hale Village Hall, Wings Road, Upper Hale. GU9 0NN. Entitled The Village Remembers.
    A display of the details of the 113 men from Hale who died during WW1. Plus other displays. 10-30am – 4pm on both days. The Last Post and lowering of the Standard will take place at 4pm on both days.
