This illustrated talk will examine the events which led up to the Armistice and the day by day conclusion to that dreadful conflict. This is to be at Horley Methodist Church in Victoria Road, Horley on 25th October. We meet at 7.30 for an 8.00pm start. Visitors are welcome for a nominal £1 entry fee. There is parking at the rear of the Church and Refreshments will be available. Doug Cox is the author of 'Men of Horley 1914-1918 - Lest We Forget' which details the story of Horley in WW1 and the lives of the men who made the final sacrifice and are named on Horley's War Memorial.

  2. We are holding an event on the weekend of Nov 17th & 18th .n Hale Village Hall, Wings Road, Upper Hale. GU9 0NN. Entitled The Village Remembers.
    A display of the details of the 113 men from Hale who died during WW1. Plus other displays. 10-30am – 4pm on both days. The Last Post and lowering of the Standard will take place at 4pm on both days.
